Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This policy covers the website thequietsystemsproject.com. The Room app has its own policy: Room Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible
This website is operated by The Quiet Systems Project (José Luis Olmos, individual). For privacy questions, write to thequietsystemsproject@gmail.com.
What information we collect, and why
Your email address, only if you subscribe to the newsletter. The subscribe form is provided by beehiiv. We receive your email address to send you the monthly newsletter, and nothing else. You can unsubscribe from any email.
Anonymous visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited and where visitors come from (for example, Pinterest or YouTube). It records the page visited, the referring site, your approximate country, and your browser and device type. It does not use cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and is not linked to your name or email.
Technical data. As with any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse.
Messages you send us. If you contact us through the WhatsApp link, we receive your phone number and your message through WhatsApp, and use them only to reply to you.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent, or share your information for advertising.
- We don’t show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We don’t have accounts or passwords.
- We don’t set cookies of our own.
What stays in your browser
The site saves one small preference in your browser’s local storage: your choice of light, dark, or system theme. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Third parties
Some parts of the site are provided by other companies. When you use them, they may receive technical data such as your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply:
- beehiiv (newsletter form and archive) — privacy policy
- Vercel (hosting and analytics) — privacy policy
- Google Fonts (the site’s typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers) — privacy policy
- Spotify and Apple Music (the music players on the Music page load when you visit that page, and may set their own cookies) — Spotify · Apple
The site also links to YouTube, Pinterest, WhatsApp, and other services. When you click one of those links you leave this website, and that service’s own policy applies.
International transfers
Several of these providers are based in, or process data in, other countries, including the United States. By using the site you understand that your data may be processed outside your country.
How long we keep information
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
- Visit statistics: they are anonymous, and we can only view them for the most recent month.
- WhatsApp messages: for as long as needed to reply to you.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, write to thequietsystemsproject@gmail.com. For the newsletter, you can also unsubscribe directly from any email.
Children
This website isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top of the page.
